01Three floors, three uses

Three floors of the Main Building are named for visitors. The 1st floor is the casino, open 24 hours a day. The 2nd floor holds the Raceway Lounge, which belongs to the Western Fair District rather than to the casino. Its screens carry simulcast horse racing from Canadian and US tracks every day of the year. The 3rd floor is the Top of the Fair Restaurant.

Lounge hours run Monday to Wednesday from 5 pm to 11 pm, and Thursday to Sunday from 11:30 am to 11 pm. It may close earlier, depending on that day's simulcast schedule. The casino does not publish its own holiday hours, so a call to 519-672-5394 is the check for the 1st floor. The same address, 900 King St., also hosts The Raceway at Western Fair District, where The WFA Raceway Corporation operates a Standardbred harness track.

02From 70,000 to 84,000 square feet

Work began on September 7, 2023, and the casino stayed open while it went on. The renovation and expansion were done in phases over 27 months, at a cost of over $50 million. Floor area was the plainest result. The building grew from 70,000 to 84,000 square feet.

A new name came at the end. On June 23, 2026, the casino was renamed Cascades Casino London. Before that date it was Gateway Casinos London, and the operator is still Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited. Readers searching under the old name will find the same casino, which now has a PROLINE+ sportsbook lounge and two places to eat.

03What the host community received

London has collected over $107 million from OLG since 1999 as host community for the Western Fair District gaming site. Gateway entered the picture later. Until May 2017, the slots on the fairgrounds were run by OLG directly. In that month, as part of the Southwest Gaming Bundle, Gateway assumed the Western Fair slots from OLG. The arrangement is governed by a 20-year operating and services agreement for the casino.

04Roads, parking and buses

The main entrance to the Western Fair District is on Rectory Street. On Highway 401, anyone arriving from the east turns off at Highbury Avenue. From Windsor or Sarnia, the exit is Wellington Street. Across the Western Fair District grounds, every parking spot costs nothing. Once on the grounds, the casino is on the 1st floor of the Main Building (Grandstand).

Three London Transit routes reach the fairgrounds: 7 Wavell, 20 Cherry Hill and 2 Dundas. Riders from London International Airport take route 36 Industrial, which connects to route 2 Dundas. This page does not list stops or timetables; confirm both with London Transit ahead of travelling.
